"Calm of Summer" A pond near Estes Park last summer seemed like the best photo to
"National Harvester" Only six months left before wheat harvest, but for now, this International Harvester truck waits out the winter.
Manti Temple in Winter. The Manti Temple has a magenta glow about it as the
Knifing Through the Morning Mist. When I went to photograph the Maroon Bells near Aspen, the moisture shrouded those famous peaks. Many a photographer was disappointed as they pointed their camera in that direction. If they would have turned to the right, they would have seen this wonderful view unfold. It was a great morning.
Kansas Prairie Sunset with Harvest Moonrise. Kansas is home for me. I'm still amazed at how flat western Kansas is around Colby. The wide expanse allows for remarkable sunsets. However, by itself it is just pretty. It needs something in the foreground. After a number of miles I found a windmill turned the right direction and placed it in the lower right. An elevator helped to create a triangle with the sliver of a moon.
Eye on the Storm. This photo has taken many awards. It is of Rose Blanche lighthouse in Newfoundland. An extremely wide angle creates the perspective and it also allowed me to get a sharp photo under difficult conditions. A wide angle lense is easier to hold steady. The wind was so fierce and the rain was coming in so strong that a tripod was not possible. Carol and I were soaked by the time we got to the structure. Can you image living in this granite lighthouse with 3 generations of your family.
Scarey Stockings. Halloween is fun for all and these ladies sported a season look at the Osborn Pumpkin farm in Loveland, Colorado. |
